Creative Week NYC is here. A ton of events scattered around the city, some free some not but all pretty interesting.

Sounds of Hamburg is an addicting and interesting site that allows users to interact with the city of Hamburg. The site utilizes 5 live web-cams, motion tracking and the music from the Hanseatic City Orchestra to to help you compose your own sounds of Hamburg.

The National- Terrible Love
The National - Afraid Of Everyone
The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio
Band Of Horses - Infinite Arms
Band Of Horses - Factory
As summer peaks around the corner, two great bands recently released their new albums just in time for the season. The National’s latest album, High Violet seems to continue exactly from where they left off. Unlike some bands who try to experiment with a new sound but more than often fail, the National continued down the road with the success after Alligator with their catchy and mellow but riveting sounds.
Seattle based band, Band Of Horses also released their 3rd album titled Infinite Arms. This album is a great pick up for Summer with their easy listening and laid back sounds. I highly recommended both of these albums.

Berlin Street Art
Someone recently decided to take art to a new level by dumping various colors of paint onto one of Berlin’s busiest intersections. The effect is a rainbow like swirl of colors, splatters and shapes smeared throughout the cities roads.

GE: Data Visualization
A cool simple little interactive visualization created by Lisa Strausfeld of Pentagram. The site features some of the most used household items and when you rollover each one it tells you how many watts that item uses. A good application if you are trying to save a little $$.

Late last year when I was in Shanghai I saw some construction going on for the 2010 Shanghai Wold Expo. The architecture for each country was unfinished but still looked pretty amazing. Now that they are all near completion I think this expo is going to be something really incredible this time around.

Google Earth will soon be released in 3D and from the looks of the sample video, this will be quite amazing. Everything is now really detailed and reminds me of Grand Theft Auto but for Google.

I’m normally not one to upgrade my Adobe Suite each time a new version is released because for the most part I don’t think each upgrade has enough additions that make me say, Wow! I must get that feature now. With that being said, I think CS5 does have enough of the ‘wow’ factor to make me want to upgrade. Check out Computer Arts 40 new features in CS5 and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
