Interesting collection of so-called “Extreme Advertisements” from around the world by One Extra Pixel. While these are suppose to be taken seriously, I can’t help but think some of them are way over the top and ridiculous that they are almost comical to me.
iPhone Dark Room
Interesting app created by Swanko Lab that let’s users process their iPhone photos in a digital dark room. The app is fully stocked with chemicals and supplies to give the illusion and fun of processing photos by hand.

As most of you have heard by now, Apple has released a sneak peak at their new iPhone 4 earlier this week. I have to admit the new slick design and features are worth drooling over.

The popular design community, Behance has recently upgraded their site. The new site is a huge improvement over the previous release and is much more easier to navigate. The additional much improved load time isn’t too bad either.

Persona is an ongoing project created by photographer Jason Travis. He photographs people along with the items they have inside their bags in a very voyeuristic and intriguing way.


Street Museum iPhone App
Street Museum looks like an amazing developed by Brothers and Sisters. This app guides users through the streets of London displaying old images over the current view via Geo Tagging and Google Maps.
Colossal Media
I was walking around East Village last week and spotted someone painting a giant mural on the side of a building. I noticed he was only using regular paint brushes and had a photo as reference of the image he was creating which is really incredible considering the scale of the whole building. I did some researching and stumbled across Colossal Media which is really similar to what I saw and they even have videos of their process.
Availability Calendar
Availability Calendar is cool little program developed by Creative League that lets users share their availabilities with clients so they when when you are available, booked or on Hold. Really useful for freelancers like me and many others.

Berlin Street Art
Someone recently decided to take art to a new level by dumping various colors of paint onto one of Berlin’s busiest intersections. The effect is a rainbow like swirl of colors, splatters and shapes smeared throughout the cities roads.

GE: Data Visualization
A cool simple little interactive visualization created by Lisa Strausfeld of Pentagram. The site features some of the most used household items and when you rollover each one it tells you how many watts that item uses. A good application if you are trying to save a little $$.
NY Design Week Guide 2010
Core 77 is back with another guide to Design Week in NY. The site breaks down the events by location (Soho, Tribeca, Noho, etc) and gives a brief description of who and what is happening at the event.

Graffiti Analysis
Graffiti Analysis is a motion study for graffiti. A custom software was developed by Evan Roth allowing artists to draw on a screen and watching their art in real time with a layered 3d effect.

Ups And Downs Of Being A Perfectionist
In no way am I perfect but I do find myself most of the time attempting to be a perfectionist. Sometimes it’s a great thing and other times it’s more unnecessary work. Smashing Magazine has a great article focused on this subject. Whether you consider yourself to be a perfectionist or not, this is an interesting read.

Cool Hunting has recently designed their website with a very grid based look. The majority of the site still resembles the previous version but definitely a nice new touch to the site.
Stargate Studios Back Lot Reel
While we all know many things are green screened in Hollywood I never realized that almost everything is green screened, especially in TV shows. Star Gate Studios released their back lot reel which shows scenes from various tv shows as seen on tv and behind the scenes. Watching this clip skewed my views on TV shows.

Chiquita Banana
DJ Neff recently redesigned everyone’s favorite bananas, Chiquita. The new design is a play off the old one but in a more fun and quirky way. Neff created over 25 of the recognizable Chiquita stickers that will randomly be placed on each banana. Each sticker features a fun illustrated character that can easily be something that you would want to collect.
