I recently worked on a new site for ESPN’s Wide World of Sports with the good people over at The Concept Farm. The sports complex which use to be known as Disney’s WWOS was recently overhauled and completely re-branded into ESPN WWOS.  Along with the new re-branding they needed an updated web presence to match the brand and style. The conclusion was a clean and slick website with a bit of an edge.  The site that allows users to register / view upcoming events, explore the complex and browse through an extensive collection of videos and photos.

Mouse Path is a cool little applet developed by Anatoly Zenkov from Moscow.  The program is available as a free download for both Mac and PC.  The simple application keeps track of your mouse movement during the time on your computer and allows you to save a image on the mouse paths whenever you want.  The end result is a cool abstract work of art or chaotic scribble of lines and circles.

Uniqlo recently posted all their web projects online in one place.  For those unfamiliar, they have done some really inspiring, innovative and creative work the past couple of years.

D&AD has launched a new search engine site titled “D&AD | Creative Search” that sends back results from Wikipedia, blogs, Google images, Flickr, YouTube, Amazon and more.  Most of these features are already being used similarly in one way or another on other platforms but D&AD shows the results all on one simple and easy to navigate site.

Over the past couple weeks I worked on some new features / changes for mtvmusic.com.  This site is constantly being updated to help enhance the overall experience of the site and I’m glad I get to work on all the additional features that come through.  Some of the changes include the a new more prominent home page marquee, a search drop down menu that makes it easier to find what you are looking for, and also changes to the video page.

I recently worked on a series of mini-games through Kastner & Partners for 2K Sports baseball game, The Bigs 2.  The game was already developed for all major gaming consoles but they wanted to create some online games so I had the pleasure to work on the game for a Facebook app, 2 variations of the widget that allows users to play the game on your website and also the actual mini-game that you can play at 2K Sports. Since the online games are a little different than the actual game, the whole interface, menu, loading screen, landing page, scoring and some parts of the background had to be recreated.

Thanks to the people over at Adobe for selecting mtvmusic.com as their Site Of The Day today, this was a great project to work on and I would also like to thank the people over at MTV for the opportunity.

Last week the world was sadden when news broke out about the sudden death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.  Michael was one of the most creative, inspirational and influential artist to ever live and to lose someone with such a great talent is a loss to everyone.  To help keep a small memory of such an untouchable legacy, design studio Group94 created their own tribute to the King himself, “Eternal Moonwalk”.  This site leads off with Jackson doing the moonwalk followed by numerous videos that users have uploaded to the site of themselves attempting the moonwalk thus resulting in a continuous eternal moonwalk.

As I mentioned the other day I was working on some playlisting stuff for mtvmusic.com, well the official launch of the new feature is now up.  This definitely makes it a lot easier to listen and watch music videos all day especially at work, just add your favorite songs and let them play continuously. You can also view other popular playlists as well as share your own.  Mtvmusic.com is also working on getting additional licenses for their music videos so that all the good people over in the UK will soon be able to watch their favorite artists.

For those who have visited mtvmusic.com and always wondered if there would ever be any type of play list feature available, it has now arrived.  I worked and help design this feature late last year and after some testing it is now live.  The feature is simply and easy to use and allows users to add songs to their quicklist, reorder the list, remove songs, etc.. all this without having to login. I am currently working on a couple of marquee images for the main carousel of the site and I will post those on the blog when they are completed.

Fanta Danceables

Apologies for the lack of updates lately, I have been pretty busy working on a couple of different pitches that I can’t name right now but as soon as anything is confirmed I will updated the news.  Anyways, I recently had the chance to work with Media Tronica on a project for the soft drink companyFanta.  We created an online game that’s sort of reminiscing to Dance Dance Revolution where you and someone else battle (Dance) head to head for 30 seconds to pulsing beats, thumping speakers and a shimmering discoball. The objective of the game is to earn points by performing various dance moves on beat with the music.  You can also embed this game to share and try to out dance your opponents.
