Logos With Hidden Symbols
Web Designer Depot did a good job spotting hidden symbols in some of the most recognizable logos. I personally overlooked many of these.

Web Designer As The Artist, Scientist and Philosopher
Interesting article by Smashing Magazine describing web designers as the artist, scientist, and philosopher. I agree..

iPhone 4
As most of you have heard by now, Apple has released a sneak peak at their new iPhone 4 earlier this week. I have to admit the new slick design and features are worth drooling over.

Behance
The popular design community, Behance has recently upgraded their site. The new site is a huge improvement over the previous release and is much more easier to navigate.  The additional much improved load time isn’t too bad either.

Gravilux, Bubble Harp and Antograph
Scott Snibble created these awesome apps for the iPhone and iPad by combining painting, animation, art and science. The small particles move around gracefully by following your fingertips around the screen.

Persona
Persona is an ongoing project created by photographer Jason Travis.  He photographs people along with the items they have inside their bags in a very voyeuristic and intriguing way.

Google Earth will soon be released in 3D and from the looks of the sample video, this will be quite amazing.  Everything is now really detailed and reminds me of Grand Theft Auto but for Google.

I recently worked on a new site for ESPN’s Wide World of Sports with the good people over at The Concept Farm. The sports complex which use to be known as Disney’s WWOS was recently overhauled and completely re-branded into ESPN WWOS.  Along with the new re-branding they needed an updated web presence to match the brand and style. The conclusion was a clean and slick website with a bit of an edge.  The site that allows users to register / view upcoming events, explore the complex and browse through an extensive collection of videos and photos.

Mouse Path is a cool little applet developed by Anatoly Zenkov from Moscow.  The program is available as a free download for both Mac and PC.  The simple application keeps track of your mouse movement during the time on your computer and allows you to save a image on the mouse paths whenever you want.  The end result is a cool abstract work of art or chaotic scribble of lines and circles.

D&AD has launched a new search engine site titled “D&AD | Creative Search” that sends back results from Wikipedia, blogs, Google images, Flickr, YouTube, Amazon and more.  Most of these features are already being used similarly in one way or another on other platforms but D&AD shows the results all on one simple and easy to navigate site.

Over the past couple weeks I worked on some new features / changes for mtvmusic.com.  This site is constantly being updated to help enhance the overall experience of the site and I’m glad I get to work on all the additional features that come through.  Some of the changes include the a new more prominent home page marquee, a search drop down menu that makes it easier to find what you are looking for, and also changes to the video page.

I recently worked on a series of mini-games through Kastner & Partners for 2K Sports baseball game, The Bigs 2.  The game was already developed for all major gaming consoles but they wanted to create some online games so I had the pleasure to work on the game for a Facebook app, 2 variations of the widget that allows users to play the game on your website and also the actual mini-game that you can play at 2K Sports. Since the online games are a little different than the actual game, the whole interface, menu, loading screen, landing page, scoring and some parts of the background had to be recreated.
